Zonta Club of Redcliffe Inc. is affiliated with Zonta International and all Zonta Clubs Australia wide. Zontians work together to empower women worldwide through service and advocacy. Redcliffe is a coastal suburb 28km north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, facing Moreton Bay. It is situated on a peninsula which includes the local areas of Clontarf, Deception Bay, Kippa-Ring, Margate, Mango Hill, Newport, North Lakes, Rothwell, Scarborough and Woody Point from where we draw our members. We are the sponsoring club of Golden Z Club of University of the Sunshine Coast Moreton Bay.
We find joy in working together in a supportive community of like-minded people from diverse countries and cultures.
Zonta stands for women’s rights. We advocate for equality, education and an end to child marriage and gender-based violence. Zonta expands opportunities for women and girls through our local and international education programs and service projects. We shall not rest until women’s rights are recognised as human rights.

Obituary
Lois was a Nurse all of her working life. She was transferred to Redcliffe Hospital in 1965 when it opened. Lois was the Principal Nurse Educator at
Redcliffe until 1978 when she was transferred to the Department of Health. The Governor of Queensland appointed Lois as the first Nursing Officer of
the Medical and Other Boards. Lois was then responsible for the Registration
and Education of nurses in Queensland.
In March 1980, Dr. Helen Row invited Lois to a meeting to form a Zonta Club in Redcliffe. Lois was the inaugural President of the Zonta Club of
Redcliffe Area (before it became incorporated). The club was chartered as at 19/5/80. Lois continued to attend meetings of the Zonta Club of Redcliffe
Inc. until she entered Ballycara Nursing Home earlier this year. Lois was a great breast cushion "stuffer". We think that she attended these nights at
Heather's house for the scones that Heather made for supper.
Lois' contributions to our club and her wonderful gift as a raconteur at the breast cushion making nights will be sadly missed.
Lois was an accomplished golfer and won the World Masters in the late 1990's. Lois travelled extensively throughout the world.

Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women 2024
Every 4 days in Australia a woman is killed by her current or former partner.
Our members were keen to support the inaugural Real Men Rally, and the Moreton Bay Says NO 2 Violence walk this year. We also attended the Encircle Candle Lighting Ceremony in memory of those who lost their lives.
